Who is responsible
Cristian Lazaro develops Gate Heist and is responsible for the processing described in this policy. You can contact him at developerclp@gmail.com.
This policy covers the iOS and Android game, identified as com.gateheist.game, and these privacy and support pages.
What data is used
Your game
Progress, saved games, preferences and privacy choices are stored on your device. The game does not require an account or sync saved games through its own service. System backups depend on Apple, Google and your settings.
Analytics · optional
If you allow it, Firebase / Google Analytics and GameAnalytics receive usage information: sessions, screens, modes, levels, difficulty, timers, attempts, results, time spent and hint use. Their SDKs may also process installation or device identifiers, app version, operating system, language and connection data. Network requests expose your IP address to the provider, which may use it to derive an approximate location.
This helps us understand usage, adjust difficulty and improve the game. With analytics on, it may also receive an ad impression’s format and value. We do not send purchase receipts, payment details or the contents of support messages as gameplay events.
Error reports · optional
With separate permission, Firebase Crashlytics receives technical reports: crashes, stack traces, version, model, operating system and other device-state information, with installation identifiers. It may send reports saved during a session in which this option was enabled. We use them to investigate errors and improve stability.
Ads · part of the free game
Since version 1.0.1, Gate Heist is funded by contextual ads between games and optional videos for the advanced Hint. To do this, Unity LevelPlay and integrated networks, such as Unity Ads and ironSource Ads, process technical and interaction data to request, display and measure ads, deliver rewards and prevent fraud. This may include IP address, device information, identifiers permitted by the operating system, impressions and clicks.
Gate Heist always requests non-personalized ads: it tells providers there is no consent to personalized advertising and opts out of the sale or sharing of data. This does not mean that ads work without processing data. Watching a video for a hint is always your choice. The No interruptions purchase removes automatic ads; it does not remove hint videos that you choose to watch.
Purchases and support
Apple App Store or Google Play handles payment. The game queries the product and verifies the transaction to save and restore your purchase. We do not receive your card number. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any files you choose to attach.
Your choices
Analytics and error reports have separate controls in Settings → Support → Privacy. They start disabled. You can play, save and use the free hint without enabling them.
Contextual ads have no switch because they fund the free version. If you do not want automatic ads, the No interruptions purchase (No Ads button) removes them; you only see a video when you choose the advanced Hint.
Allowing one purpose does not allow the others. You can withdraw your choice on the same screen. Turning error reporting off takes full effect after you restart the app.
Withdrawing a permission stops new events for that purpose. SDKs that have already started may keep technical connections until you close the app. Data already sent is not automatically erased. Erasing local progress does not erase store or provider records either.
To request the deletion of remote data, email us. Since the game has no accounts, we may need to identify the installation or issue before we can locate data. Do not send passwords or complete payment details.
Why we process it
We use your consent to enable analytics and error reports. You can withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. Showing contextual ads, without profiling or personalization, is based on our legitimate interest in offering the game for free; you can avoid automatic ads with the No interruptions purchase and email us to object or ask questions. Information needed to provide the game, manage a purchase or respond to a request is used to deliver those functions.
Security, abuse prevention and handling enquiries or claims may require processing based on a legitimate interest. We may also retain information required by law. Stores and ad networks describe their own purposes and legal bases in their policies.
Services and providers
We use the services associated with the options you enable. They may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their terms explain the locations and safeguards applicable to these transfers.
- Google Firebase: Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config
- Google Privacy Policy
- GameAnalytics: processing player data
- Unity LevelPlay, Unity Ads and ironSource Ads
- Apple: store, payments and device services
Remote Config downloads technical service settings; it cannot grant privacy permissions or replace your choice.
How long data is kept
Saved games and preferences remain on your device until you erase them or the app’s data is removed. System backups and purchase records have their own retention lifecycle.
Analytics data is kept according to the service settings and for the period needed to analyse and improve the game. Aggregated reports may be retained longer than individual events. Crashlytics states a 90-day retention period for crash traces and associated identifiers before it starts removing them from live and backup systems.
Ad providers and stores apply their own retention periods to operate, prevent fraud and comply with legal duties. Support messages are kept while the enquiry is handled and then as needed for possible claims or legal obligations. You can request information about your data or its deletion by email.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and withdraw consent. Contact developerclp@gmail.com and mention that your request concerns Gate Heist.
We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify and handle your request. You may also complain to your country’s data protection authority; in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
Age and younger players
Gate Heist is intended for people aged 13 or older and is not directed at children. Before offering optional services, the app asks whether you are 16 or older. This choice is stored only on your device: we do not ask for your date of birth or send your age group to providers.
If you indicate that you are under 16, analytics and error reports stay disabled. Ads remain contextual and non-personalized, as for every other player. If you are 16 or older, each service still requires your separate choice and starts disabled. You can review your age choice in Privacy; changing it disables optional permissions.
If you believe a child has provided data without the required permission, please contact us so we can investigate.
